On September 2015, Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was officially adopted during the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit 2015. The agenda contains a set of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) involving 169 specific issues within 17 areas, and has become a programmatic document guiding global Sustainable Development in the following 15 years.
SDG K-12 Science and Technology Innovation Project
The SDG K-12 Science and Technology Innovation Project is a STEAM science and technology innovation education project based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), jointly developed by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), CIFAL Shanghai, and Shanghai Xiangyu Education Technology Co., Ltd.
This project is aimed at K-12 schools, teachers, and young students across China (including Hong Kong and Macau), with the aim of promoting the influence of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among young people. It helps young people establish a deep understanding of themselves and the world from an early age, build awareness of sharing the earth, and integrate their knowledge and skills to solve various problems we face, becoming creative global citizens with an international perspective.
The project relies on the advantageous resources of both parties and will comprehensively carry out STEAM curriculum system, challenge activities, camp activities, teacher training, etc. that integrate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and technological innovation.
