Shanghai University of Engineering Science Visits CIFAL Shanghai

2025-11-12

On June 25, 2025, a delegation from the College of Higher Vocational Education at Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES), including Vice Dean Xiao Qian, Director of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department Zhang Rui, Director of Manufacturing Engineering Department Li Houjia, Director of Management Department Yang Shuqin, Director of Basic Teaching Department Zhang Ke, and Director of Academic Affairs Office Bian Weihua, visited CIFAL Shanghai. During the visit, both parties engaged in an in-depth exchange on cooperation and development in the field of vocational education.

Shanghai University of Engineering Science is a comprehensive engineering and technology university with 19 colleges. The university is particularly strong in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, and it collaborates with Germany to conduct national training programs, focusing on cultivating high-quality engineering and technical talents. The visit focused on two major cooperation projects aimed at promoting the internationalization and standardization of vocational education.

Project 1: China- Aid Training Cooperation and Output of Vocational Education Standards

Shanghai University of Engineering Science has extensive technical experience and rich teaching resources in the field of intelligent manufacturing. Both parties plan to cooperate in the research, development, formulation, and promotion of vocational education curriculum standards in Southeast Asia, promoting the output of standards under the Belt and Road Initiative. By closely integrating with CIFAL Shanghai's China- aid training programs, the university will provide intelligent manufacturing training for officials and technical personnel from ASEAN countries, sharing its high-quality teaching resources to support local industrial upgrading and technological progress.

In addition, both parties will also cooperate in the international promotion of standards related to Shanghai's manufacturing industry. Through the output of standards, the export of related equipment and technologies will be driven, enhancing the international influence of China's manufacturing industry. This cooperation not only aligns with the Belt and Road Initiative but also provides a broad space for the university's technologies and standards to enter the international market.

Project 2: Micro-Professional Development and International Certification

Shanghai University of Engineering Science is actively exploring the development of micro-professionals, such as launching a training program for international tour guide qualifications, to cultivate professional talents for international travel companies. The development of micro-professionals emphasizes the combination of practice and certification. Students are required to obtain certificates issued by the university as well as certification from enterprises or CIFAL to enhance their competitiveness in the international job market.

This visit has laid the foundation for cooperation between CIFAL Shanghai and Shanghai University of Engineering Science. Both parties will work together in the internationalization of vocational education, standard output, and micro-professional development, contributing to the cultivation of international and high-quality vocational and technical talents.
